OpenAI announced Thursday that Chief Revenue Officer Denise Dresser is stepping down, less than a year after she joined the artificial intelligence company.
According to a company release, Dresser is leaving “to pursue other opportunities.” Her replacement will be Dali Rajic, who previously served as president and chief operating officer of cybersecurity firm Wiz.
Dresser’s exit marks the second senior departure at OpenAI in just a few days. On Tuesday, longtime executive Brad Lightcap revealed he was leaving the company, stating in a post on X that he plans to “start something new.”
The rapid succession of high-level exits raises questions about leadership stability at the AI giant as it continues to scale its commercial operations. Dresser had been brought in to lead revenue generation at a time when OpenAI has been aggressively expanding its enterprise and consumer offerings.
OpenAI did not provide additional details about the timing of Dresser’s departure or the transition plan for her responsibilities beyond naming Rajic as her successor. Rajic’s background at Wiz, a fast-growing cloud security company, suggests OpenAI is looking to bring in seasoned operational leadership to drive its go-to-market strategy.
Lightcap’s announcement on Tuesday had already drawn attention given his long tenure and close association with the company’s leadership team. The back-to-back departures are likely to fuel speculation about internal dynamics as OpenAI navigates a period of intense competition in the generative AI space.
The company has not indicated whether further leadership changes are anticipated. Both exits arrive as OpenAI continues to face scrutiny over its corporate structure and strategic direction amid rapid growth and heavy investment in infrastructure and research.
